Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 October 2026
KMap does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. It cannot: the app has no internet access at all.
Data this app collects
None. KMap has no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party SDKs that collect data. No information is sent anywhere, because the app cannot send anything anywhere.
Data this app stores on your device
Everything you create in KMap stays in the app's private storage on your phone. It is never uploaded.
- Maps you import
- Map files you choose yourself, and the image tiles the app prepares from them so they draw quickly offline.
- Notes and photos you add
- Any note text, and any photo you attach to a note. Photos are copied into the app's own storage so they remain available offline.
- Your settings
- Preferences such as the display language, map orientation, scale calibration, and the last position you were viewing.
This data is yours. You can delete any note or map from within the app, and uninstalling KMap removes all of it from your device.
Permissions
KMap requests no Android permissions. It does not ask for internet access, location, storage, camera, or contacts.
-
No internet permission. KMap is built without the
Android
INTERNETpermission. It is not merely unused — it is actively removed from the app manifest at build time, so no part of the app or any library it includes can open a network connection. There is no server, no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no crash reporting. - No location permission. KMap does not use GPS. It is designed for places where there is no satellite signal, and it never knows where you are.
- No camera permission. When you attach a photo, Android's own photo picker handles it. The picker returns only the single image you chose, and gives the app no access to the rest of your gallery.
- No storage permission. When you import a map or save a backup, Android's own file picker handles it, and the app only touches the one file you selected.
- Compass sensor. KMap reads the device compass to show which way you are facing. Sensor readings are used on screen as you look at them and are never recorded or transmitted.
Backups you create
KMap can export a backup file containing your maps, notes, and photos. The app writes that file wherever you tell it to, using Android's file picker. What happens to it afterwards is entirely up to you — if you move it to a cloud service, that service's own privacy policy applies to it. KMap itself never uploads anything.
Children
KMap is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, regardless of age.
